Walruses: Sleepy Sea Giants
Water and Land Sleepers
Walruses have the ability to sleep both in the water and on land. When sleeping in the water, they inflate air sacs in their necks to keep their heads above the surface, allowing them to breathe while resting. On land, they often huddle together in large groups to keep warm and protect each other.
Flipper Cushions
Walruses sometimes use their flippers as cushions, tucking them under their heads for added comfort. This behavior shows their adaptability to different environments and their ability to find comfort in various settings. Their sleeping habits are a testament to their resilience in harsh Arctic conditions.
