Silent Nightmares
Timothy Hardwick, an 11-year-old with cerebral palsy, was another target of Allitt’s morbid fascination. When Timothy experienced an epileptic seizure, Allitt used this as a cover to inject him with a fatal dose of potassium. His sudden and inexplicable death stunned his family, but the “angel” nurse was there, shedding crocodile tears, hiding her true satisfaction behind a mask of empathy.
Deadly Potions
Two-month-old Becky Phillips was next on Allitt’s gruesome list. Admitted for a simple stomach bug, Becky never stood a chance. Allitt’s lethal injection caused severe hypoglycemia, and despite efforts to save her, the infant succumbed to her injuries. Each time, Allitt’s modus operandi involved substances readily available in the hospital, making her crimes even more insidious.
