9. The Hardy Camel
Desert Giants
Camels are the true giants of the desert, known for their incredible endurance. Their humps store fat that can be converted into energy and water, allowing them to travel long distances without stopping for a drink. This adaptation makes camels the ultimate long-distance travelers of the desert.
Heat Handling
Camels are also heat-handling pros. Their thick coats insulate against heat and cold, and their long legs keep them away from the hot ground. Camels’ nostrils can close to block out sand, and they have bushy eyebrows and long eyelashes to protect their eyes from the sun and sandstorms. Talk about being desert-ready!
