Initially thought to be a bomb, the blast was later attributed to methane gas accumulation. The incident resulted in 11 fatalities and over 100 injuries, shocking the community and causing widespread panic.

Investigation and Arrests

Following a thorough investigation, authorities identified several individuals responsible for the safety lapses that led to the explosion. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide were filed against eight people, including engineers and maintenance personnel from various companies involved in the mall’s operations. Their negligence in managing the biogas systems was deemed the cause of the explosion.
