When heading into the wilderness for activities like camping or hiking, it’s commonly understood that you should dig a hole if you need to relieve yourself. Yet, this park has faced challenges with visitors choosing to go between large stone boulders instead. Discovering human waste while trekking a trail is unpleasant for everyone. The park’s frustration is evident in the sign they felt compelled to erect.
The sign states: “Please do not poop in the rocks.” It’s followed by a disclaimer: “We can’t believe we had to make this sign.” It’s clear they’re quite exasperated with the behavior of some hikers.
