‘Goldilocks’ Burglar
A Home Makeover Gone Wrong
Lukasz Chojnowski, a burglar from Lancashire, decided to make himself at home in the most literal sense. While breaking into a retired couple’s house, he not only slept in their bed but also cleaned the house, washed his underwear, and even did some grocery shopping. When the homeowners returned, they found their home tidier than they left it, with Chojnowski fast asleep in their bed. He was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £200 in costs.

Chojnowski’s actions turned a typical burglary into a bizarre home improvement project. His strange behavior earned him the nickname ‘Goldilocks,’ reminiscent of the fairytale character who made herself comfortable in someone else’s home. It’s not every day that a burglar tidies up and buys groceries during a break-in, making this case one for the books in terms of unusual criminal activities.
