Blobfish
Animal Overview: The blobfish, often dubbed the world’s ugliest animal, is a deep-sea fish with a gelatinous body that helps it survive under extreme pressure. Its saggy, droopy appearance is a result of the low-pressure environment in the deep ocean.
Habitat and Behavior: Blobfish live at depths of 600 to 1,200 meters off the coasts of Australia and New Zealand. They have a unique way of floating just above the sea floor, where they consume crabs, sea urchins, and other invertebrates.
