The world was different in the ’90s, and so was the former noughties hunk Brendan Fraser. Popularized by his starring role in “The Mummy” franchise, he also appeared in movies as beloved as “George of the Jungle,” “Looney Tunes: Back in Action,” and “Crash.” Throughout his career, he’s excelled both in action and comedic roles, proving to be a versatile actor.
Fraser’s versatility, however, goes even further. Looking a bit different than he used to, this Indianapolis, Indiana native wasn’t afraid to put on some weight to star in the Darren Aronofsky drama “The Whale.” His work in the movie was described as “the performance of a lifetime.”
