Artificial Man-Made “The World” Islands
Est. Value: $16 Billion-$20 Billion*

Dubai’s real estate developers are setting new benchmarks with every project, transcending the concept of coastal airport islands to create entirely new realms. The development of the Palm Jumeirah was seemingly just a precursor to the far more ambitious project, “The World” Islands, which continues to unfold.
Viewed from above, these islands are designed to replicate a world map. Once “The World” reaches completion, it will cover an expanse of roughly 3.7 by 5.6 miles, featuring seven clusters of islands that together comprise nearly 260 individual islands. Each cluster will symbolize one of the planet’s seven continents, with the islands varying in size from 150,000 sq ft to 450,000 sq ft.
