The Wild Girl of Champagne
Marie-Angélique Memmie Le Blanc, the Wild Girl of Champagne, is unique in that she was a feral child who learned how to speak properly after being captured. it was more than likely that she knew how to talk before she was abandoned in 18th century France. When she was found, her diet was mainly branches, leaves, birds, fish, and frogs. After her capture, when she was given a rabbit, she immediately began to skin and eat it.
Charles Marie de la Condamine, a famous scientist at the time, said that her fingers and especially her thumbs were abnormally big. Thi sis more than likely due to the fact that she used her thumbs to swing from trees like monkeys and dig out roots to eat. In 1737, the Queen of Poland and the mother of the Queen of France traveled through Champagne and decided to take the girl hunting. The Wild Girl of Champagne was so fast that she outran rabbits. She also had exceptional eyesight.
