Foods That Do Not Belong In The Fridge (And We Didn’t Know)

Unopened yogurt actually doesn’t have to be refrigerated

When you think about it, yogurt is a pretty strange product. It’s quite literally made from bacteria, and we willingly put this in our bodies. Weird, right? What you might not know about this bacteria is that it doesn’t need to be refrigerated when the yogurt pot is unopened, which might be enough to see a few jaws drop.

That’s because your fridge stops bacteria from growing – which isn’t exactly necessary when yogurt is involved. You can keep unopened yogurt in a cupboard for weeks without any worries, but it’s important to transport it to the fridge when you’ve opened it. If not, you might find that bacteria grows out of control and becomes dangerous.
