Bell peppers don’t need to be refrigerated until they’re cut
Vegetables should always be kept in the fridge, right? Wrong! Well, it can be that way. When you buy vegetables in the supermarket, some of them are kept in chillers, while others are not. Bell peppers aren’t kept in the chiller, which means that you don’t have to store them like this when you get home.
That’s because the cold and dark temperatures of a fridge actually dull the taste and color of peppers, and could actually cause the peppers to go bad quicker than those that are kept on the counter. Of course, it’s a different story when you cut your peppers, as you will need to keep these refrigerated until used.
